A torsion spring lasts around 10,000 cycles — roughly seven years of normal use. When it fails it goes with a bang like a gunshot and the door becomes several hundred pounds of dead weight. We stock the common sizes on the truck, and we replace them in pairs so you're not back here in six months.
Frayed or snapped cables let one side of the door drop, and the door comes off its track. Keep operating it and you'll bend panels and rollers on top of the original problem. We reset the door, replace the cables, and check the drums and track alignment before we leave.
Sometimes it's a $20 sensor alignment, sometimes the gears inside a fifteen-year-old unit have finally given up. We'll tell you which before you spend anything. New installs include belt-drive options that won't wake the house above the garage.
Insulated doors worth having in an Edmonton winter, in the styles people actually want. We measure, quote, remove the old door and haul it away. Most single-door replacements are done inside a day.
